Get into the mindset: We are about to examine our professional cultures and how they evolve
After looking at institutions and individual framing, let's see what happens when they come together in a collective process. In this module, we’ll explore how groups "subcultures" form and why they matter. Using examples like the Natur’Adapt project, we’ll discuss the idea of "translation"—finding common ground between different groups.

Throughout the Bridging Minds project, we hosted webinars covering the topics addressed in this course. If you find it easier to grasp new concepts through this format, we encourage you to watch them before diving into the more comprehensive content we’ve prepared!
What am I...
Each module starts with a riddle tied directly to the lesson. The idea is to help you think of this course as an academic resource meant to be actively applied to both your professional and personal life. Enjoy :)
Riddle 3
I’m invisible, not something you can read. Pleasant or not, I’m necessary. The result of your quest might just reflect… me. What am I ?

The process
We will here consider the “process” as an addition or opposition to « result » in the sense in which we or our funders may intend them (deliverables, publications, etc.). The process itself is often overlooked, although we will explore in this lesson how it shapes our ability to make an impact!
Imaginary situation...
Imagine you're on the bus and there's a group of teenagers talking loudly behind you. To what extent do you think you would understand what they say?
- A - crystal clear understanding
- B - understanding most of it
- C - 50% understanding, 50% confused
- D - mostly confused, are we even speaking the same language?

There is no right answer, but if you think you’d be significantly confused while listening to this group, there is a good chance that you were witnessing an expression of subculture of a group that you are not included in!
